"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." (Matthew 7:24-25)
It is commonly said that the church in Africa is a mile wide and an inch deep. This means the church in Africa is growing in quantity, not quality. The need of the church and people in Africa for quality education cannot be ignored. Being part of Africa, South Sudan is no exception. Most people (Christians and church leaders) in South Sudan lack the basic knowledge needed to serve in their areas of responsibility and leadership. The education needed to equip the church leaders, other leaders, and the general population is lacking in South Sudan.
The Foundation was established to bring a response to this problem. The Foundation is a Christian organization established for non-profit purposes. The ministry was established by a group of South Sudanese leaders and theologians to cater for the skills needed in the church. The ministry reaches out to the spiritually needy to provide skills to those willing to serve the Lord in their local churches and communities and to those seeking growth in their leadership roles.
The three pillars of our work in South Sudan
"Everything stands and falls on leadership." Leadership is much needed at the family level, community, and globally. No society can move forward without leadership. At The Foundation, we will deliberately train and motivate young leaders and provide skills to those already in leadership positions and engagements.
Our leadership programs include:
Education is the backbone of every community. South Sudan has ranked low in literacy due to prolonged civil wars. For a well-informed, well-organized, and well-civilized society in South Sudan, education must be taken seriously. The Foundation plans to have robust and competitive Primary, Secondary, and tertiary educational centers in South Sudan. Through these institutions, TF believes the communities in South Sudan will be transformed.
Our educational initiatives include:
Many of those serving God can only do better if they are properly discipled. Discipleship is not an option but a mandate. The Foundation will disciple God's people at different levels and through various discipleship programs. The Discipleship does not end with discipleship. Missions follow discipleship. The Foundation will encourage and, where possible, send the discipled on short- and long-term missions.
Our discipleship programs include:
At The Foundation, we believe everything stands and falls on leadership. Our mission is to train church and community leaders, and to equip the next generation through formal and informal training so they are equipped to train others.
Through our training programs, we've seen hundreds of leaders transformed and equipped to serve their communities more effectively. Our impact extends across South Sudan and neighboring regions, with trained leaders now multiplying their knowledge in their local contexts.
